The mission of ICOMAM is to develop a worldwide network within our field of study, to support each other and to foster and develop international dialogue and cooperation.

As the International Committee for Museums and Collections of Arms and Military History, ICOMAM aims to be a platform and network of museum professionals in practicing their occupation. It consists of institutional and individual members or affiliated organizations and forms a channel of communication and support. We welcome specialists, scholars, universities, museum training programs and enthusiasts in exchanging information about experiences, researches and promoting the preservation, conservation, collection, study, display, interpretation and understanding in the field of arms and armour in a broad sense. ICOMAM aims to bring together institutions, organizations and people in an international dialogue and co-operation. It also supports the aims of the International Council Of Museums and co-operates with other committees of ICOM. ICOAM can be a support concerning directives and legislation. We are always pleased to welcome new members.
