ICOM Arms & Military offers financial support to young Museum professionals to attend the Annual ICOM Arms & Military congress, in memory of late past president Piet De Gryse.

ICOM Arms & Military are offering three grants of  750 Euros each to support attendance at the 2026 conference in Lisbon, Portugal.

Details of the conference will be available on ICOM Arms & Military website.

The financial support can be granted under few conditions:

The applicants must be:

– 40 years of age or under and have not attend and ICOM Arms & Military conference before.
– able to write and understand English fluently and be full-time museum employees.
– individual members of ICOM Arms & Military, individual or institutional.
– applicants should give a paper or a presentation during the conference.

All applications must include:

▪ the completed and signed application form

▪ a 500 words statement of the applicant’s motivation for attending the annual meeting and the benefits which he/she expects to derive from it

▪ the applicant’s curriculum vitae indicating training, work experience, publications as well as current work responsibilities within his/her institution (maximum one page)

▪ a copy of a valid travel document (passport, identity card)

The grant, which will be paid on submission of receipts,  can be used to cover travel, accommodation, subsistence and conference fees up to the total sum of 750 Euros.
